Monday Morning Review: 10 Healthy Treats to Calm the Cravings

August 4, 2014 by Shari Eckstrom 17 Comments

What about Monday? That could be our one day we look at things the same way, and wear funny shoes.”
― Kevin Dalton

Is it Monday morning already? Wow, the weekend came and went in a flash. While I love the weekends, my favorite day of the week these days is Monday. This is when all the hurry scurry of the weekend is past, and the business of day to day begins to settle in once more.  The silence and serenity that comes with Monday is a special treat worth waiting for.

Monday Morning Review: 10 Healthy Treats to Calm the Cravings

Sometimes I have a strong undeterrable craving for something sweet. No salad, bacon or pork chop will do! At this moment if I am ill prepared, a dive into the chocolate chips bag or an ice cream run is usually my answer. This is not the best solution when I am trying to eat whole, healthy foods, to say nothing of the sugar rush and mood swings that come along with it. So I set out this past week to find a few alternatives.  Here are my favorite finds… 10 healthy treats to help calm the cravings.

It is so nice to have a healthy snack or two around when those cravings attack. I have spent way too many moments eating dark chocolate baking squares then I care to admit! ;0 Thank you for stopping by for a visit. I appreciate the share.
      Blessings,
      Shari

I don’t even want to talk about how badly I need a list like this. We recently began our new school year and the pace around here ramped up a lot. When life gets fast, that’s when its most tempting – and easiest – to grab something comforting, but not always so healthy. I could really dig into those buttercup brownies or fudgesicles, and those German chocolate cookies…and not feel so badly about it.
So glad you shared this! I’ve shared it too.

School already? I can’t believe it is that time again! Having a healthy snack around is a must for me since I am more of an emotional eater. It is too easy to grab whatever is handy if I am not prepared. Thank you for stopping by and taking a moment to share. I greatly appreciate it.
      Blessings,
      Shari

Thanks Michelle. We are going to be taking a road trip soon for a family reunion and I thought these would be perfect to take along with us. I prefer to bring my own snack foods that are healthy instead of stopping along the way. Thank you for sharing the recipe and for stopping by.
