Monday Morning Review: 15 Apple Recipes Perfect for Fall

October 6, 2014 by Shari Eckstrom 24 Comments

MR1 This past week we picked all of our apples. It was a little earlier than we had planned. It came down to leaving them and letting the Elk have a party or picking them early when they were still a bit tart. Since Tim and I both like tart apples and we wanted a few to enjoy before the Elk ate every last one, we harvested.

Even with the few that we donated to the elk our three trees will give us plenty of apples to enjoy all year. I will put some in cold storage, make applesauce, freeze apple slices, and make apple pie filling. In honor of harvesting, this week’s review celebrates apples. Here are 15 Apple Recipes Perfect for the Fall Season.

Enjoy the harvest!

Scallops is one of my favorite foods, the Pan Seared Scallops with Apple Cider Cream looks delicious!! The icing on the apple spice cake looks really delicious, too. Now I want to make all of these apple recipes!

Thanks so much for the ideas! My husband and I will be going to the apple orchard this week and I was wondering what I was going to do with 10 pounds of apples 🙂

I can see that. It doesn’t get cold enough for them to do well. We are fortunate to have our own trees.

What fun to be putting up apples, I used to make applesauce and apple butter for my family about 48 quarts a year, several bushels.

I think I might like the Roasted apples and quinoa, we eat salads all the time, but that one sounds really yummy. Thanks for sharing on Oh My Heartsie Girl and the mention above 🙂 Happy Harvesting!!

Wow, I remember those days. Now it is only Tim and I so I don’t have to do as much. It’s kinda nice. I get to give a lot of fruit and veggies away every year.

    Shari,

I too love your apple collection. I would also love to be there helping you put up apples. I know it is a lot of work, but they are truly so delicious in everything and you will definitely enjoy them. I think it would be a perfect day helping you put the apples up. Maybe someday!

Do not work to hard. I hope you have a wonderful week.
